Puck’s Places to Play: New Jersey
MuckFest® MS New Jersey is next weekend on Saturday and Sunday, so we had Puck put together a list of his favorite places to play when he’s not rolling around in the Best MUD in America in The Garden State for MuckFest MS!
Let yourself be a tourist for the day and check out New Jersey’s coolest landmark.
The Statue of Liberty! We know what you’re thinking… “Hey, that’s in New York!” but fear not New Jerseyite this iconic landmark actually falls in Jersey waters and thus is one of Puck’s favorite places to visit while he’s in town. After all, it’s only a quick ferry ride from the shores of Jersey to see Lady Liberty. Though… Puck usually flies over.
Enjoy a hot meal after a long day in the mud at one of Jersey’s many 24-hour diners!
It doesn’t matter if you want to grab a bite early to fuel up for the run or if you want to satisfy your hunger with a greasy burger after sloshing through the mud and muck, Jersey has you covered! In fact, Puck can’t even recommend his favorite spot since New Jersey has the most 24-hour diners per capita in the world. And he has a startling mission to sample every single one! What can we say, our Muck Duck loves French fries!
Have you ever wanted to be on TV? Check out this famous local spot made popular by TLC.
It’s no surprise that Puck loves sweets! We even have to hide the MuckFest MS cookies from him or none of our participants would get one. So naturally, every time Puck is in New Jersey he heads to Carlo’s Bake Shop. Home to delicious cakes, treats, and cannolis and the setting for one of Puck’s other guilty pleasures; TLC’s popular show Cake Boss.
Thought you saw some nutty stuff at MuckFest MS? Check out Lucy the Elephant!
Lucy is a 65-foot high wooden historical landmark that looks out onto the Jersey seashore. She’s been around since the 1800’s and has served as a restaurant, business office and local bar. Today, you can take a guided tour inside the six-story elephant and enjoy the views of the ocean from inside. And you thought Crash Landing was high!
Toss out those muddy clothes and upgrade your wardrobe on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
As one of the longest boardwalks in the world, you’re sure to find everything you need on the piers of this popular place. So forget those mud-soaked clothes and upgrade to duds fit for Mr. Monopoly himself. After all, the boardwalk helped inspire the property names for the popular board game! P.S. Puck is still trying to find the “Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.” sign and we don’t have the heart to tell him it’s not real.
