We Heart San Francisco!

After witnessing the event on Saturday, we called up Merriam-Webster, you know the dictionary people, and insisted they make an urgent addition:

mud-thusiast noun 1. a person filled with enthusiasm for mud or more generally getting dirty; or 2. a San Francisco mucker. <With apparent delight, the San Francisco mud-thusiast voluntarily rolled in the mud and laughed with gusto.>

Merriam-Webster wasn’t too receptive, but we’ll let you know what Urban Dictionary says.

The obligatory San Francisco fog in the morning only seemed to invigorate you muckers, who did not need any prompting to get down and dirty in the Muckin’ Corral. And then before we knew it, the skies were blue and you soared to new heights of muck-tacularity. Flying Muckers indeed!

Even after you posed heroically (and comically) at the finish line, you carried on with plenty of post-run shenanigans at the MuckFestival, including several would-be lumberjacks who displayed a definite talent for log-rolling or at least getting wet.

As we say, it takes a mini-army to make the muck-magic happen, and you San Francisco volunteers were magicians of the highest order; thank you for creating such a safe, inviting and fun event for all. Thanks also to the Solano County Fairgrounds for being such a great host and partner.

As many of you said, we’re ready to do it again next year! Speaking of which, save the date for the 2016 MuckFest MS San Francisco: Saturday, October 1. Registration and event details coming soon!

A special message from the Northern California Office of the National MS Society.

Thank you for coming out and making MuckFest MS San Franacisco such a great success. We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers and staff who came out to run, help and support each other this weekend. Every day of the year, we work hard to support people living with multiple sclerosis. There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck” and help us reach our fundraising goal. Make a donation online at http://www.MuckFestMS.com or call us.
